BOMBANANA! Soundboard Module: Find the Sound, Hit the Slots

Bomb ModulesUpdated: 2026-09-17✓ manual-verified

The Soundboard module is a Medium-tier puzzle that punishes guessing. Its official rule: "Press the buttons until you find one that makes a sound. Then, based on the Braille number written on that button and its color, press the buttons at the positions marked in the table." It is a small hunt followed by a precise lookup — the classic BOMBANANA! rhythm.

How the Soundboard Works

The module is a grid of buttons. The workflow has two distinct phases:

  1. Find the sound. The Blind presses buttons until one produces a sound. This button is not the target yet — it is your key.
  2. Read the key. The Deaf identifies the button's Braille number and its color.
  3. Look up. The Mute finds the row for that number + color in the manual's table, which marks which button positions to press.
  4. Execute. The Blind presses the positions in sequence.

The Traps

  • Phase one is observation, not solving. Do not let the team overthink the search. The first button that makes a sound is the key; the actual solution is in the manual.
  • The Braille number and the color are both inputs. Missing either produces a wrong row. The Deaf should state "number X, color Y" as a single confirmed callout before the Mute looks anything up.
  • Press the marked positions, not the speaking button. A common mistake is re-pressing the button that made the sound instead of the positions the table actually marks.

A Clean Relay

  1. Blind: "testing" → presses buttons until one sounds.
  2. Deaf relays the key: "the speaking button shows Braille three, it's yellow."
  3. Mute reads the table and responds with the target positions.
  4. Blind presses them, orders all confirmed one at a time.
