BOMBANANA! Piano Module: Read the Braille Octave, Play in Sequence

Bomb ModulesUpdated: 2026-09-17✓ manual-verified

The Piano module is a Medium-tier lookup puzzle where musical talent is irrelevant. Its official rule: "Play the notes in sequence based on the octave number written in Braille, and the color of the active light." The skill is a clean relay of the octave and the light, not the ability to play piano.

How the Piano Module Works

  1. Read the octave. The Blind (or Deaf, whoever can read the display) reports the octave number written in Braille.
  2. Read the light. The Deaf reports the color of the active light.
  3. Look up the sequence. The Mute finds the row for that octave + light color in the manual, which maps to the key (or key sequence) to play.
  4. Play. The Blind plays the keys in order on the braille-engraved keyboard.

Clean Lookup, Not Music

Because it is pure lookup, the two things to protect are the two inputs:

  • The octave number must be read precisely. Braille digits swap easily under pressure. The Deaf should read back the number to the Blind before the Mute looks it up.
  • The light color is per-sequence. Reusing the previous round's color without a fresh call is a guaranteed strike.

Sequence Discipline

When the manual asks for a sequence of keys, press them one at a time with confirmation, exactly like the cable readback ritual in the cable (wires) module guide. Teams that narrate the whole sequence and then ask "go" make transcription errors at the worst moment.
