BOMBANANA! Pressure Module: Keep the Needle Down

Bomb ModulesUpdated: 2026-09-17✓ manual-verified

Unlike a defusal module, the Pressure module cannot be solved — it is one of the three CHAOS modules in BOMBANANA!. Its official rule: "Lower the rising pressure needle by repeatedly pressing the center button. Continue until the bomb is defused." Until every other module is finished, somebody owns this button.

What the Chaos Label Means

A CHAOS module must be held in a safe state for the entire round. If the Pressure needle tops out while the team is solving another module, the bomb explodes — regardless of how well everything else went. It turns a puzzle into a background job that eats one player's hands and attention.

The Babysitting Loop

  • The needle rises continuously. It does not wait for the team; it climbs whenever nobody is pressing.
  • Tap the center button to push the needle back down.
  • Repeat until the bomb is defused. There is no "finishing" Pressure on its own — you only stop when the whole bomb is safe.

Conversation and Hand-Off

Because Pressure demands a free hand near the button, the team should decide in advance who babysits it — usually the Blind, between inputs on the other modules. Two practical habits:

  • Announce the hand-off. If the babysitter must step away, say "taking Pressure" before you switch, so the needle never runs unwatched.
  • Keep it in the rhythm. Weave a "Pressure check" into every module callout so nobody tunes it out mid-solve.

The other two CHAOS modules are Slider and Alarm; Pressure is the first to appear as a fixed slot, on campaign Level 6 — see the campaign level database. For every module at a glance, start with the modules overview.
